2010 Audi R15 TDI Plus LMP1 Pure sound!! – Monza test
During the Peugeot Sport prototypes test day at Monza racetrack, I’ve seen a black Audi R15 TDI plus. Also this LMS car is very very fast ( during the day the Peugeot was faster, but that was probabily for the different test programme).

@BMXfuel5o It sounds like a jet because of the very heavy turbocharging needed in order to make enough power to compete with their gasoline counterparts while using less available rpm to make that output. The turbos act like mufflers by breaking up the sounds of the exhaust pulses in the exhaust.
Sounds like it explodes when it shifts at 1:11, crank it up!

Okay for an Diesel the Sound is not bad.
@kallo182 its a diesel is why its quiet, not all the lmp1 cars are quiet, check the lola aston martin or the pescarolo’s they are noisy

The Sound of LMP1 Cars is very Smooth.
In compare to a DTM or F1 Car, an LMP1 Car dont even have a Sound.
The Car in this Video drive around Monza and you can still hear the Birds singing…
When DTM drive arround Hockenheim, you hear NOTHING other than DTM Sound.

@blacksheep0001 wow, how can you say this sounds like any other racing car? Where do you not hear quality in it’s sound? The fact that it is quiet sets it apart. It absolutely has an individual sound. You’re just contradicting yourself. BTW as an mp3 player ipod does a shit job, as sound quality leaves much to be desired.
@dunti21 Ive stated a number of times it does not have to be loud, but of good quality sound… whats sets the sound othis car out from others…. nothing. thats the problem for me it hasnt got an inivdual voice loud or quite. to me it has no personality, fair enuf it does its job very well but so dose a dishwasher or a good computer, or an ipod thats what it an ipod super car understated does its job well full stop, i just like the raw cars more
@blacksheep0001 why is it that a car has to be loud to have soul? The understated sound of this TDI sends shivers down my spine, the way you know it’s silent, but has insane hidden potential….
what sound…
from v tecs high reving engines to old M3s, MK2 fords, up the scale to zondas, f355, DB9s etc they all have a sound that when you hear it you it its coming.. this on the other hand is void of that sound which makes some cars seem alive but in this case its a fast computer am not saying its not an achievment just hasnt got the soul
@dunti21 you mised the point completely no i wasnt refering the r15 to be a boy racer car i said as a joke am surpised it doesnt go booo “LIKE” a boy racer car- that part was me taking the piss out of boy racer TDIs.. I merely was stating that the lack of sound and by that i dont mean loud I mean sound quality, it just doesnt have a presents if you were blind folded you couldnt tell if it was this or a reglular car… were as others over the range of all cheap- expensive have a unqiue sound
this car sounds faggy compared to the aston martin lola’s V12
le mans truely rocks since Audi arrived…because they set the limits..they put automobile racing to a new level.. peugeot is close and those guys deserve credit for stepping up every year..but where is the collective elite from the united states..
does that really mean U.S. car giants can´t produce a le mans winner anymore??? so sad so sad
